Nathan Ajayi, portrayed by Fisayo Akinade, is an art teacher at Truham who used to teach at Higgs.
Appearance
Nathan is of African-American descent and stands at about 6'1" (the same height as Nick). His hair is light brown and cut as a flattop. He has glasses, a faded five o'clock shadow, and an average built.
Personality
Nathan is an extremely friendly and kind teacher that is caught off guard to Youssef's stricter tactics. He is shown to be sympathetic to his students sneaking around and becomes flirtatious when Youssef admits that he had never dated men due to not coming out until late into his adulthood. The two teachers succumb to their affection for one another and sleep together, and Nathan approaches Youssef following the evening by asking him out on a date, saying that he didn't consider it a casual hookup. Nathan takes a liking to Youssef's true personality, bashful and nervous, and forms a genuine relationship with him.
In the television series, Nathan has been slightly altered to be Charlie's right-wing man at Truham, allowing him to eat lunch in his classroom and give him advice. He tells Charlie that when he was his age, he avoided his feelings when harboring a crush on a straight student, and advises his student to not let fear control his life.
