Sai Verma, portrayed by Ashwin Viswanath, is a side character in Heartstopper and Nick and Charlie. He is good friends with Nick Nelson, Otis Smith, and Christian McBride.
Appearance[]
Sai is of average, at least compared to his friends, being around as tall as Nick Nelson and Otis Smith taller than Sahar Zahid and shorter than Christian McBride. He also has a medium-tone complexion with most likely mid-tone to dark brown or black hair.
Personality[]
Sai is a mellow and calm guy who seems to be quite smart as he and Otis are annoyed at Christian for calling Nick and Charlie Spring "Good Mates" while Christian seems more or less oblivious.
Apparitions[]
- Sai is first introduced in volume 1 as a friend of Nick Nelson's from rugby.
- At Harry Greene's party he's seen talking to Nick and his other friends, later when Nick and Charlie share their first kiss he comes up to the floor they're on, looking for Nick.
- In volume 2 when Nick, Charlie, The rugby lads and Harry go to the cinema he doesn't have much interaction. Although it's possible he was one of the people discouraging Harry and Nick's fight.
- In volume 4 he, Otis and Christian approach Nick to apologize about what happened at the cinema and before then and make amends. He seems to be in better terms with Nick now.
- In volume 7 he attended a year 12 assembly with Nick. Christian, Otis, and Sahar were with them as well.
Relationships[]
Christian McBride and Otis Smith[]
The three of them are good friends and usually appear as a package deal.
Nick Nelson[]
The two seemed to be good friends for a while, then after the situation at Harry's party and the cinema the two seemed to be distancing each other. But after Sai, Christian, Otis and Nick made up they seemed to be on better terms.
